Switch from Cookiebot to Arqam360

Last updated: March 26, 20265 min readIntermediateBrand

Switching takes three steps: keep what you need from Cookiebot, set up Arqam360 on your platform, then replace one with the other in a single change. Plan it so your site never runs two consent banners, and never runs none.

Before you switch: keep your records

1

Download your consent records

Choices your visitors made while Cookiebot was installed are your evidence for that period. Download whatever your Cookiebot account lets you keep and store it with your compliance records.

2

Note your banner wording and links

Copy any text you customised and the links to your privacy and cookie policies, so you can carry them over.

3

Note your cookie categories

Arqam360 groups cookies as necessary, analytics, marketing and preferences. Note which of your tools belong in each group so you can check the new setup against it.

Set up Arqam360

1

Salla or Zid

Install Arqam360 from the Salla or Zid app store. Your account is created and the banner is added to your storefront without code, in Arabic by default.

2

Shopify

Install Arqam360 from the Shopify App Store, then turn on the Arqam360 app embed in your theme editor.

3

WordPress

Install the Arqam360 plugin from the wordpress.org directory and enter your keys under Arqam360 → Settings.

4

Any other site

Add <script src="https://cdn.arqam360.com/widget-v2.js" data-key="YOUR_API_KEY"></script> inside the <head> of every page, before your tracking tags.

5

Configure before going live

Under Consent → Banner, set your wording, colours, language and policy links, and add your site under Consent → Domains if it isn't there yet.

Make the switch

Remove Cookiebot in the same change that turns Arqam360 on: uninstall its app or plugin, or delete its script tag from your theme or tag manager. Arqam360 sets Google Consent Mode itself as soon as it loads, so a second consent tool on the same page competes with it, and your visitors would face two prompts. Visitors who answered Cookiebot's banner will see Arqam360's banner once, because their earlier choice was stored by a different tool.

Check the result

Open your site in a private window. You should see only the Arqam360 banner. In your browser's developer tools, the Network tab should show widget-v2.js and no request to a cookiebot.com address. Accept or reject on the banner, then open Consent → Consent data in your dashboard: your choice should appear in the records within a few minutes.

Want to test first? Install Arqam360 on a staging copy of your site, or on a duplicate Shopify theme you preview without publishing, and remove Cookiebot there only. Keep a single consent banner on your live store at all times.
