Configure Arqam360 for UAE PDPL

Last updated: September 30, 20263 min readIntermediateBrand

This is a setup checklist for sites with visitors in the UAE, where the Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) applies. It covers Arqam360 settings, not the law itself.

For what the law covers, and what is still waiting on executive regulations, read the UAE PDPL guide.

1. Opt-in and Arabic for UAE visitors

Turn on Auto Regime Detection in the Widget tab's compliance settings. Visitors from the UAE then get the opt-in model, with analytics, marketing and preferences off until they choose, and Arabic as the default language. If a visitor's country cannot be determined, the banner keeps its default model, which is also opt-in.

2. Consent records

Each decision is stored with its date and time and the categories accepted or refused. Browse them in the Consent Logs tab and export a CSV for a domain when you need evidence of what a visitor agreed to.

3. Requests from data subjects

The law gives people rights over their personal data, including access and deletion. On Pro and above, the DSAR tab logs each request and tracks its status.

If your site also serves Saudi visitors, Configure Arqam360 for Saudi PDPL covers the same settings with the Saudi specifics.
