Short answer

What is the best cookie consent app for a Zid store?

The best cookie consent app for a Zid store shows an Arabic, right-to-left banner by default, passes each visitor's choice to Google Consent Mode v2, saves a dated record of each choice, installs without code and bills in riyals through Zid. Arqam360 is the Zid app built for all five, and it is on the Zid App Market.

Why a banner

Does a Zid store need a cookie banner?

If your Zid store runs analytics or advertising tags, yes. Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) covers any processing of personal data about people in the Kingdom, and a tag that can single out a visitor — directly or by combining signals — is processing personal data. The Zid App Market offers free Google Analytics and Snapchat pixel apps that take a few clicks to add — which is exactly why the consent question lands on the merchant. A banner that holds up needs to do five things:

  1. 01

Hold non-essential tags until the visitor agrees

Analytics and advertising need the visitor's explicit, informed consent unless another legal basis applies. Cookies the store cannot run without — cart, checkout, login, security — are a separate category and stay on.

  2. 02

Explain each purpose in plain Arabic

A visitor can only consent to something they understand. Group cookies by purpose and describe each group in words a shopper would use.

  3. 03

Offer a real way to refuse

A banner with only an "OK" button does not give a free choice. Refusing has to be as clear as accepting.

  4. 04

    Keep settings reachable

PDPL lets people withdraw consent at any time, so the visitor needs a way back to their settings after the banner closes.

  5. 05

    Record every decision

If SDAIA or a customer asks, you need to show what was agreed and when. A banner that stores nothing leaves you nothing to show.

SDAIA confirmed 48 PDPL enforcement decisions in its January 2026 announcement, after the grace period ended on 14 September 2024. Administrative fines reach up to SAR 5,000,000. Law-firm summaries of that announcement list processing without a valid legal basis and marketing sent without consent among the violation categories.

Find out what your Zid storefront loads

Most merchants do not know every tag their store runs — apps and marketing integrations add their own. The free Arqam360 scanner opens your storefront, lists the cookies and trackers it finds, and sorts them into necessary, analytics, marketing and preferences, flagging anything it cannot match as unknown. You get a compliance score as a baseline, so you can see what changes once the banner is live. It needs only your store's address.

Install

How the Arqam360 app installs on Zid

Four steps. You do the first; the rest happens on its own.

  1. 01

Install from the Zid App Market

Search for Arqam360 in the Zid App Market, install it, and approve the permissions Zid shows you. Zid then sends you back to your dashboard.

  2. 02

Your account is created for you

When the install completes, Arqam360 creates your account and a banner configuration for your store, registers your store's address as a verified domain, sets Arabic as the banner's default language, and starts a 14-day trial. There is no separate sign-up form and no domain verification to do.

  3. 03

The banner appears on your storefront

The app adds the banner to your store's pages through Zid's app snippets — the way Zid lets an installed app place a script on a storefront. The script looks up your store's banner settings by its address and loads the banner. You do not edit your theme or paste any code.

  4. 04

    Manage it from inside Zid

Open Arqam360 from the apps section of your Zid dashboard. Our dashboard loads inside Zid, already signed in. From there you change the banner's colours, position and button text, run a cookie scan, connect Google or Meta, and review or export consent records.

Step-by-step: installing the banner on Zid and checking it works

Google and Meta

Google Consent Mode v2 and Meta on a Zid store

Google Consent Mode v2 is how Google Ads, GA4 and Google Tag Manager learn whether a visitor agreed to be measured. When the banner loads, Arqam360 sets analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization to denied. When the visitor decides, it sends an update: the analytics category controls analytics_storage, and the marketing category controls the three advertising signals. On every later page the saved choice is sent again, so what Google's tags read always matches what the visitor picked.

For Meta, on the Pro and Managed plans, once you connect Meta in the dashboard, Arqam360 can forward events to Meta's Conversions API from our servers with the visitor's consent state attached to each one. The same server-side forwarding works for GA4, server-side Google Tag Manager, TikTok and Snap.

Arabic

An Arabic banner, right to left

Every Zid install starts with Arabic as the default language. The banner and the settings panel run right to left, the category toggles mirror, and the buttons are in Arabic: «قبول الكل» and «رفض الكل».

You can turn on a language switcher so visitors can move to English. After they choose, a small badge stays on the page so they can reopen their settings and change or withdraw consent at any time. The choice is saved in a first-party cookie on your store for 365 days by default; after that the visitor is asked again.

Records

A record you can show

Each decision is stored with its date and time and the categories the visitor accepted or refused. You can browse the records in the dashboard and export them for your store as a CSV file — the evidence you need if SDAIA or a customer asks what was agreed.

Pricing on Zid

What it costs on Zid

If you install from the Zid App Market, Arqam360 is billed through your Zid account in Saudi riyals, not by card on arqam360.com, and you change or cancel your plan in Zid. The plans listed on Zid are Free, Pro at 109 SAR and Managed at 369 SAR a month, before 15% VAT, and the paid plans start with a 14-day free trial. Managed is the plan where our team sets up the banner, tests it and keeps it maintained. Zid shows the current prices on the app's page before you subscribe.

FAQ

Questions Zid merchants ask

What is the best cookie consent app for a Zid store?

The best cookie consent app for a Zid store shows an Arabic, right-to-left banner by default, passes each visitor's choice to Google Consent Mode v2, saves a dated record of each choice, installs without code and bills in riyals through Zid. Arqam360 is the Zid app built for all five, and it is on the Zid App Market.

Does my Zid store need a cookie banner under PDPL?

If it runs analytics or advertising tags — Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, Snapchat or TikTok — those tags collect data that can identify a visitor, and PDPL expects explicit, informed consent for that unless another legal basis applies. A cookie banner is how the store asks and records the answer. The free scanner shows which tags your store actually loads.

Do I need to edit my Zid theme or hire a developer?

No. Once you install the app and approve its permissions, the banner is added to your storefront through Zid's app snippets. There is no code to paste and nothing to change in your theme.

Will the banner be in Arabic?

Yes. Arabic is the default on every Zid install, laid out right to left. Visitors can switch to English, and you can change the banner's text, colours and position from the dashboard.

How am I billed if I install from Zid?

Through Zid, in Saudi riyals. Your subscription is managed from your Zid dashboard, and the Arqam360 billing page links you there rather than to a card checkout.

How do I set up Google Consent Mode v2 on a Zid store?

Install Arqam360 from the Zid App Market and approve its permissions: the banner is added through Zid's app snippets, with no code to paste. Arqam360 then sends Google Consent Mode v2 signals that follow each visitor's choice, which Google Ads, GA4 and Tag Manager read. For Meta, on Pro and Managed, events can go to Meta's Conversions API from our servers with the consent state attached, once you connect Meta.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Installing starts a 14-day trial, and Zid also lists a Free plan. You can run the free scanner on arqam360.com before installing anything.
