Show Your Banner in Several Languages

Last updated: March 26, 20264 min readIntermediateBrand

Arqam360's consent banner can speak your visitor's language. Arabic and English are built in, ten more languages load on demand, and Arabic, Urdu and Persian render right to left automatically. You control it from two settings on the Banner page.

Supported languages

  • Arabic (العربية) — right to left
  • English — the fallback when no other match is found
  • Urdu (اردو) and Persian (فارسی) — right to left
  • French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Turkish
  • Hindi, Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) and Malay (Bahasa Melayu)

Set the banner language

1

Open Consent → Banner

Language settings sit with the rest of the banner options in your dashboard.

2

Choose a Default Language

Pick English or العربية to show one language to every visitor, or Auto to follow your page's lang attribute first and the visitor's browser language second. If neither is a supported language, the banner shows English.

3

Turn on the Language Switcher (optional)

Adds a language menu inside the banner listing every supported language. A visitor's pick is remembered on your site for their next visit.

4

Keep custom text empty on bilingual sites

A custom title, description or button label replaces the built-in text in every language. If your store runs in both Arabic and English, leave those fields empty so each language shows its own translation.

5

Save and check

Save your changes, then open your site in a private window, once in each language, to confirm what visitors see.

Language by visitor country

If you also turn on Auto Regime Detection and leave the Default Language on Auto, the banner takes the visitor's country into account. Visitors from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Jordan see the Arabic banner, even on a page written in English. A language the visitor picked from the switcher, or a fixed language you chose in the dashboard, always takes priority.

There is nothing to configure for right-to-left. When the banner shows Arabic, Urdu or Persian it flips its own layout, including toggles and the settings badge. The banner renders in its own isolated layer, so its direction never changes your theme's layout.
